As a black belt in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu and a 30+ year master copywriter with experience generating over $100 million in sales, I’ve learned that the discipline and focus required to excel in martial arts can also be applied to the craft of copywriting.
As a three-time world masters champion at my age and rank, and with four silver medals and gold medals in the Pan Am and Brazil Mundial tournaments under my belt, I know the importance of consistent training and perfecting techniques. I have applied this same mindset to copywriting.
Let me explain…
Just as a black belt in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu must master the art of leverage, timing, and strategy, a copywriter must master the art of persuasive language, storytelling, and understanding their audience. And just as a martial artist must practice their techniques over and over again to master them, a copywriter must also continuously practice and hone their craft.
That’s just the beginning...
You see, it’s not just about mastering the techniques; it’s also about understanding how to apply them in various situations.
In Judo and Jiu-Jitsu, a black belt must be able to adapt to their opponent’s strengths and weaknesses, and in copywriting, a master copywriter must be able to adapt their message to their target audience.
That’s why, as a copywriting coach, I approach copywriting the same way I approach martial arts. I teach my students my persuasive techniques and how to apply them over and over again until they become second nature. And just like in martial arts, the more you practice, the more you’ll be able to take your copywriting to the next level.
Over the years, my experience as a competitor and coach in martial arts has taught me the importance of focus, discipline, and perseverance.
These qualities are essential to succeed in copywriting as well. Whether you are writing an email, a brochure, or a website, you need to stay focused on the task at hand and not be distracted by everything else going on around you.
I don’t mention this to brag, but my experience as a black belt in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu, as well as my experience as a master copywriter, has taught me that the principles of discipline, focus, and technique that apply to martial arts also apply to copywriting.
As your copywriting coach, I bring the same level of dedication and focus that I have honed through years of martial arts training.
As one of my students, I will work with you to help you develop your own set of techniques and to help you adapt your copywriting to different audiences and mediums.
In addition, I can show you how to stay focused and disciplined in your writing process so that you can achieve the kind of success I have enjoyed–and, hopefully–one day earn your black belt in copywriting, as I have.
If you’re looking to take your copywriting to the next level, and you get the different kind of knowledge a black belt copywriter and coach can offer you, I invite you to join my copywriting program.
If you follow the simple path I lay out for you, you will be unstoppable in your career and earn the kind of money you’ve always dreamed of.
All good wishes,
Doug D’Anna
